We've started the long journey home - though most of the day was spent sitting and waiting for a charter flight delayed due to mechanical problems ( in the end we had a different plane). We walked Queenstown from end to end, both sides of the streets and then again in the other direction! And by the time we arrived in Auckland it was too late for our group farewell party so we "went as we were" (hooray I didn't need to unpack my suitcase to find my one fancy outfit) and ate in the hotel. Since we need to have our bags ready for 5 AM for a 5:30 departure that was good too.
