Labor Day

I'd intended to post yesterday, but I was too busy out partying!  We went back to our old Avon neighborhood for the first time in 12 years to a 50th wedding celebration for Ruthellen and Bruce Corbett.

Thank heavens everyone had name tags! Otherwise we might have not recognized our children's contemporaries - David Corbett for Mary, Bruce Corbett Jr (with son Xavier) for David, and Lisa Salvatore, Liz Corbett, and Jill Hoekman  for Karen.  Several of our "old" friends from "way back" were there too, and everyone had a good time catching up.

But we're all left pondering, "Where does time go?"

On a smaller scale, the same thing applies to this summer. Already two of our "fleet" of four boats are in their position for winter, under the deck at the back of the house. There's no longer any need to sail the small "grandchildren's dinghy", Pilot, or to have a second dinghy, Portia, to reserve our space at the dock.

But Labor Day is not a universal holiday. My European colleagues have been back at work for almost a month, and anxious to plan for my visit in a couple of weeks.  It's definitely "back to school time'!
