Shari's spruce tree - planted after her first Christmas in her house - may never recover
But I hope that the grass beside our house that was under seawater for four days will be green again next spring.
The Kuehns have a "beach" where they formerly parked their cars -- sand, rocks, and seaweed thrown over the seawall by the waves.
While the real beach still has good sand
The drainage system for the wetlands beside our house is still causing problems -- the water is rising again.
(The white pipe is part of the water-system repairs)
At low tide Jack used a long piece of rebar to try to free the flapper valve and unclog the pipe -- without much success. Another phone call to town hall is necessary. Maybe one of these days our taxes will pay for a much-needed new system.
